The Insurance Guarantee of ITAKA Tour Operator for the new season amounts to 194 000 000 PLN. It is valid from 16.09.2013 to 15.09.2014. The Guarantee, like the previous ones, has been issued byEuropäische Reiseversicherung AG (ERV AG), the leading insurer of tour operators.
Although the turnover of ITAKA Tour Operator was higher than in the same period of last year (2012/2013), the amount of the guarantees for season 2013/2014 is slightly lower. This is due to a new regulation of the Minister of Finance, which entered into force in May 2013. It allows large companies to reduce insurance sums from 14 to 12% of the total turnover.
The subject of the guarantee is:
- covering the costs of return of customers to the country, where the tour operator, against obligation, does not provide this return,
- covering the reimbursement of deposits made by customers in the case when, for reasons related to the tour operator, the tourist trip is not realised,
- covering the reimbursement of a part of deposits made by customers for a part of a tourist trip, which shall not be realized for reasons relating to the tour operator.
